Swine Flu Scare

Howdy,

Right, its the flu season. This year is special though, Swine Flu is in the air. Well, falling sick with very flu like symptoms this time of the year is not really nice. Good thing they have painful nasal swabs and 9 minute flu tests to make sure you don't have it. Yes, I was a bit under the weather. Cold, Cough, fever, the whole shebang. So there's been no photography going on at all.

Another thing that came to a standstill was my ongoing job hunt. Not as though there was much happening on that front, but hey, you gotta keep trying. Its an ironic twist of fate, some might even call it the survival of the fittest. They chose to have an economic meltdown the exact year I decide to graduate. Go me. Makes it all the more harder. Its like in some African cultures, they make you walk on a bed of hot coals, as a rite of passage into manhood. I am walking on some pretty damn hot coals right now, manhood here I come.

Its seems I am a compulsive reader. I started on the famed Dune series a while back, and I just can't stop now. There's a lot of different opinions out there about the dune saga. Most consider it too wordy with excessive amounts of philosophy thrown in. I don't believe that is necessarily the case. While in some books of the saga Frank Herbert might have overdone the hidden philosophies and innuendos but for the most part, the saga is in good harmony. Extremely entertaining, these books show a great deal of research and imagination. You can see a careful blend of present day politics and terminologies with the future dune world depicted by Herbert. I am on the sixth book of the series and I am sad that this is the last one written by Frank Herbert. Anyways, I have gone on for too long. Need to get back to work, so thats all for now.

Peace.

Guess who's back!

Good day ladies and gentlemen.

I know I know, its been a couple of years since I ventured into the blogging territory. I was busy! Seriously! To distract you all from this current anger that you might be experiencing, here's a picture of Tahoe lake in all its night-time glory. Look- Pretty!

Anyways, I do have some time at hand, and I do enjoy writing, so why not. What have I been up to? Well not much, getting my thesis in order, finishing up my research, looking for employment. Now I know what all you cynics out there must be wondering, looking for a job in this economy, NO WAY, I re-affirm my previous statement, Yes, I am looking for a job in this economy. I know times are hard, but hey, that just makes it more challenging.

Onto other less serious topics, that picture was taken with a 30 second, medium exposure 18-55 mm lens. Here's another one taken during the same winter break at Tahoe in bright sunlight.

Tahoe is vividly beautiful, a photographers dream, especially during dawn and dusk. I think one of the main impetus's for me to continue this blog is to put up some of my pictures, gives me motivation to go out and experiment with my camera.

So I'll keep them coming, and hopefully this time around I won't stop writing.

Cheers.
